Throw Away Society is Gone

What gets me about this is so many folks think the fix is to throw away the seat and buy a new one. That and that seat caning is such a simple fix. Spend an hour or so, learn something, fix your boat.

All indications are that things are gonna get tight in this world. Why not make an extra effort?

Now, if we could only fix melted nuclear power plants....

You can buy ready to go sheets of woven caning at a good upholstery supply shop. They’ll even have the slats that are used to hold the cane into the grooves.



I, however, epoxied a thin sheet of marine plywood and closed cell foam where I used to have cane.
