A point of trivia - to those few of us with skin on frame boats, they say not to rinse out the salt. It helps preserve the wood and maybe the lashings…
Salt nose only bothers when I bend over - then watch out!

Maybe not after every use, but salt will damage stuff like fabric and rope more quickly than fresh water. If our boats haven’t been rained on in a couple of days when we vacation in Maine (hardly a problem this last week), we empty out water bottles on them whn we get in.
