Seasock?
Is this a cockpit cover brand? Can someone enlighten us rookies?
SEA SOCK…
Think of them like waterproof socks in a boot…
The boot is the boat, and your body fits into the sock (like a foot) which lines the boot/boat cockpit…during capsize or heavy waves, the sock limits the amount of water the cockpit will take in, and additionally, it keeps debris out…
Got it
Thanks Troll Man, I’ll give myself 30 lashes for being too lazy to google this morning.
Auto Wax
My boats that had liquid auto wax mixed with resin and applied as the final interior coat stay cleaner, clean real easy, and do not get that "ground in grim" that is so hard to remove. Just rinse. :^)

Two Cheap Saw Horses & a Hose
I place the boat across the saw horses, hose off the deck a bit, then turn the boat over with cockpit down, duck under the boat, and with my head in the cockpit and hose in hand, I blast every square inch of the insides, then alternately lift the bow and stern to drain it out. BTW, I don’t stow anything under the hatches, so it stays clean in there.

The only time
I clean my cockpit is after I manage to get that sticky, grey, gluish mud from the Everglades inside the boat.
I don’t bother with sand, after all you are gonna get it in the cockpit every time you lunch so you have the kayak clean only while it’s stored in your garage.
