Can I have a 10 year contract?
That’s probably an unreasonable request (ya think?). But otherwise I’d have to wait until/if I’m ever laid off.
Thanks for keeping the fantasy alive with the “ok” response though.
If you say ok to the 10-year, then I’m really gonna talk to my wife. I’d be fine with living in SC. Son doesn’t graduate HS for a couple more years. That’s a problem. Otherwise my wife would go where I wana go for work. She’d be concerned about the pay cut.
I’m an engineering manager of a metrology and process control group now, for Hewlett-Packard company. Over time, I’m not sure I’d really enjoy managing quality and customer support for a kayak company, any more than I enjoy my job now.
What I’d really enjoy I think, is marketing and sales. But I don’t have any special qualifications there.

Couple hundred miles to the coast!
That’s not good.
Looks like some big lakes about 10 miles west would be the main local paddling.
I’ve never lived more than about 60 miles from the coast in my life. Though I like lake paddling too.

Clemson
there’s a nice lake, but it’s only a lake.
Charleston is 3+ hours and it’s a boring drive.
