I'd put 2 or 3 inches of foam under my butt in a Zephyr. I'd have a slightly more canoe-like feel and still be able to stretch those knees way up whenever I felt like it. The Z is a very stable kayak that does fine in the 'active' stuff.

I'd avoid that Tempest 180. (I think you'd need to gain about 100 pounds for you to qualify for that boat.)

, krugger, superior? Face it Jim you can get a decked canoe, lower the seat use a double blade and be comfortable in it. You are not racing so the extra width of a canoe versus a pure kayak is not relevant. get together with MacRae at a rendezvous and try his sockeye. I heard of guy who decked his voyager, ( I guess he lowered the seat) and race it in the seakayak class at nationals. You have a lot of options.

is to paddle what I have and enjoy it, but how likely is that to happen?
