Solo canoe advice needed..

i’ve had a hand in transport
more than once. Sometimes its a relay affair between pnetters.

at the top of classifieds
"KAS Transport is a paddlesport specific, cross country transportation company. We pickup and deliver in all 48 states. For quotes please email - quotes@shipyourkayak.com - With your quote we include our tentative schedule."

maybe you could get a quick quote from them -

again, any good buy on a boat will not hang aaround for long, so if interested you need to hustle to beat other buyers

Bad timing.
I’ll be out of state all week and hopefully nowhere near a computer. Have to resume looking when I get back.

I’m not surprised to hear of the mutual assistance going on around here. Have found paddlers, generally speaking, to be a real decent lot.

Just found this
This looks like an interesting possibility. It was just posted on craigslist. http://rochester.craigslist.org/boa/4952911760.html

Too many canoes…
Anyone having “too many” Royalex, or kevlar solo canoes, in the 13 to 15 foot range, and in very nice condition, which are creating storage or spousal problems/issues/conflicts should contact me.

I will attempt to alleviate their problem in a timely manner.

There is always room for one more…

Quick question…
I have heard several folks mention that despite Wenonah’s spec sheet, the Royalex version of the Vagabond has virtually no rocker.

Does anyone know if the composite versions are closer to the 1.25" advertised?

I’m pretty sure that it is.
It’s been a really long time, but I once looked at composite Vagabonds on a display rack. I seem to recall seeing a bit of rocker, and “a bit of rocker” is what 1.25 inches would look like (not obvious, but unmistakably present just the same). I think my memory about this is correct, because I used to have a Royalex Vagabond and it clearly had no rocker at all, which was a disappointment to me, and I was looking to see if the composite version appeared to be “correct” regarding advertised specs.

wenonah vagabond
Handled Cedar Creek in Comgree NP yesterday with a first time solo paddler in it. The put in for tje first 3 miles had decent current and is narrow and twisty with obstructiions. He did very well in it. It was the Royalex version. He is 5’ 11" and 175…

Just got back from
the Carolinas a couple of weeks ago. Camped in the Congaree and hit Cedar Creek several times. Lovely paddling.

If you see
a red Wenonah Wilderness at Congaree be sure to say hi. Water levels looked great this weekend but I couldn’t make it out there.

I assume, then,
that would apply to the Tuf-weave version of this boat as well?

I would expect so (nm)

Will do. Always looking for shuttle buds
I was in a green kevlar Curtis solo tripper and yatipope paddleda a white Royalex dagger sojurn. The section form Banister bridge to the footbridge to the pond is fun, and runs faster than the Cedar Creek road put in section. The wenonah vagabond in Royalex handeled itvery well.
