I was out running my drift boat with a new Tohatsu 6 hp this week. For a long trip I would bring hearing protection.
Funny how these posts come back long after they are originally posted. Anyway, my only experience with a trolling motor - catching a ride. 1 hp gas motor was more that capable of pushing the two of us along.

Perhaps its just the wrong boat. How about a fishing “kayak” with a 9.9hp motor?
