Forget the ACA
About all they’re good at is collecting money from their affiliate clubs.
Sing has it right
I ran a sea kayak club for 4 years, and as time went on, we got more and more informal. And people seemed to like that.
Running a club that has a lot of rules, functions and deadlines is just a huge pain in the a$$ sometimes. I don’t regret having done it, in fact I enjoyed it, but keeping it simple and free is even more fun, and a lot fewer sleepless nights wondering about liability.
It’s about having fun; make sure it stays that way.

Adirondack Pirates
We have formed an informal club during the past couple of months with no officers and established a web site at http://www.adirondackpiratepaddlers.org which includes a bulletin board. Every attempt is made to assure people are responsible for their own safety, etc.
