I just bought a used Kaos. Hopefully, I’ll get out on the (small) waves next weekend. I’ll report back.

The Kaos, with fin in place, will outsurf the ww boats mentioned above. If you really get into surfing, you’ll end up later on with either a dedicated surf kayak and/or waveski.
In your initial outings, stay away from other surfers until you figure how to hang onto your Kaos (helps to have the thigh straps) and your paddle when you flip. You can roll the Kaos, though many don’t bother learning how since you can climb back on (provided you hang on to it and not let it surf in on its on).
