To all who use cast iron...

Don’t use that crap in the wilderness

oven cleaner that is, iron is great!

If I didn’t want
soot on my stuff I would just borrow yours.: )

Use dishwashing liquid to coat bottom
of cast iron pans. Makes clean up much easier. Ivory works well.

Love cast iron pans

Kinda make a point of picking up the good ones I see at garage sales and such.

I have a couple 4" dia fryers I use for back pack camping. (no I don't hike for miles as my back won't handle it any more)

I've aquired about every size imaginable at about 50 cents to a dollar a piece.

Camping - -I usually just put a paper towel in the bottom of the pan and stack the next smaller one in. Put them all in a wallyworld plastic bag, and then into a paper bag (I like that pillow case idea though.) I did see someone make up canvas bags for their pans once.

Cleaning the bottom - - - -Phffffttt
- - Only when dinner gets stuck on the underside. Usually means something else happenend -!!!!

PS - - I use cast iron on the kitchen stove too. I prefer it to just about anything else.

Yo Yullster
I’ve got 2 small SK in my yard sale tomorrow at a $1 for the pair

I’ve been collecting Griz and Wag out of the dump for an old neighbor for years.

I take an 8 SK and a 7 Griz canoeing. I spent way too many years count the oz. backpack’n. I got a boat to haul this gear and as long as I’m not dragg’n in the shallow, I’m loaded for BEAR

soap (not detergent) works -NM
