I know paddlers who slipped over the top
of the hinged kajaksport pegs. He was surfing down a wave and got steep enough to slip up and over the top of the rotating foot peg. It was pretty funny seeing his cockpit rim up under his armpits. They are pretty comfortable when doing anything other than surfing. I would also assume a there little higher risk of entrapment with larger pegs.

never foamed out the bulkhead. I just sit greenland style most of the time and or use the pegs. last i checked, someone was supposed to help me do that at Delmarva but that someone never showed up!

I was thinking of putting 6" long PVC pipes over my footpegs. If they’re annoying or in the way, I can just slide them off. It’s not like they would be expensive.
I think 1 1/2" pipe will slide right over the pegs. Measure your pegs & hit the hardware store.
