Why Technique shunned by Newbies

So willi_h2o
do you think the kayak slackers would be well advised to get sponsons? Should they use kayaks with rudders or skegs?

just asking

no arguement there
Merely pointing out the thread had drifted back and forth. A good bit of the 200+ posts were not about the original post.

I don’t see what’s so shocking about going over 300 posts, considering the thread drift end up covering different issues.

Thread drift
is part of what I consider to be interesting about the thread. I like trying to interpret what may have prompted any given respondent to make the comments they made. What in the main premise of the OP or ensuing discussion prompted them to make a corelation to a different activity? Also for me as a newbie to this message board it gives me a chance to discern who is for real and who is bloviating. For me its all good.

SPONSONS!!!
Great! Let’s get sponson guy involved in this! If some of you think me responses are wordy, you ain’t seen nothing yet!

I ran across his site while researching something about paddle floats. What a sad pathetic way to promote a product.

Is this thread drift or thread deviation? ;)
