303 as rudder cable lube?

It’s slicker than snot and doesn’t attract dust.

Anyone tried it?

Why would it be a bad idea?

It’s not a bad idea, but
I have had good results with silicon lube, so I am staying with that.

It’s wax based & will generally last longer than 303 will. I use it on all of our skegs, and it lasts 2 months of heavy use between applications. It’s also a very good corrosion inhibitor.

Cable lube
I use a dry Teflon spray

lube
I’d suggest going to a marine supply store and look for McLube. Works very well in a marine enviourment and doesn’t attract dirt.
