30s here (Jacksonville), must be really cold where you are

So far this month, 5 of my 9 paddling days have been in the 30s.
Last year, for the whole month (January, paddled 29 days) there were 5 days in the 30s.

Good on you, for keeping it going! I haven’t been out since last week for a small surf paddle. This week has been all morning walks, fairly short at that. Air temps in the 20’s, wind wind chills down to near 0. Warm up coming up for tomorrow and into the weekend, with air temps moderating into the mid 30s expected. May have tiny waves to surf, with expected storm going out into the Atlantic south of us in New England.

Paddle (or walk) on!

I don’t know how ya’ll handle it. We are having a little cold snap here in New Orleans and it is hard.

So far it’s not been at all cold here. A few nights about -9, but temps in the low teens and 20s in the day time. For early January, that’s not bad at all.

Was a brisk -14 this morning in the north woods of Michigan.

12° F with high winds last night in central Maryland. Been staying below freezing these last few days, a bit more snow predicted tonight, and may not get above freezing except for maybe this Sunday and Monday.

Not too unusual for this time of year, but we’ve been spoiled the last few years. Started up the snow blower a few days ago for the first time in three years only to find the friction disk for the track drive dry rotted. New one on order. That should prevent any more heavy snow for the next few years.

Got down to 42 the other night. Otherwise 60’s and calm here. Today was near 70 and glassy on the bay. Lots of birds. I did 5 years in Boston in college, can’t take 7 months of winter.

At Live Oak, Florida this morning it’s 25 degrees frost everywhere. Suwannee is low. Whoops, we left the boats at home. But some of our group took some SOF boats out the other day in afternoon.

Ps…it’s 99% humidity and 25. Degeees

brrr, just looking at your pic
I’ve really turned into a wimp.
I’ll paddle in the 30’s, but don’t want to get wet (I know, it’s a wet sport).
Todays was in the mid (and falling) 30s. Going north, into the (light) breeze was COLD, returning, with the wind was very nice.

Supposedly a low of 18 last night in Upstate SC but I didn’t get up to confirm. Clear and 40s now.

Sure its cold. Its winter.
It must be really hot where you are most of the rest of the year.
