Looking to go kayaking in Acadia. Looking for itierary and place to rent one kayak for multiday trip without gear as car can’t carry 3 kayaks. Camping info also if possible.

Trails Illustrated topo map of Acadia, number 212, will provide you with the information you need for paddling and camping. There is a large outfitter right in Bar Harbor that can provide you with what you need, but I forgot its name.

outfitters in Bar Harbor but they usually just do guided trips---I don't think most of them will rent you a kayak to go off by yourself--- you might try National Park Canoe and Kayak rental--207-244-5854--they do rent kayaks to paddle on Long Pond and may rent them for use in the ocean. Old Quarry Ocean adventures, 207-367-8977, in Stonington will rent them for ocean usebut its about an hour drive from MDI--in Stonington the paddling is better any way, and on a clear day you can see MDI. And you can camp on th islands for nothing or at Old Quarry for a modest fee if you can't do without indoor plumbing, hot showers, and a local store
