Accommodations Prior to Voyagers Entry

Will be paddling Voyagers National Park for a week in early July, entering at Ash River Visitors Center. Driving up, will arrive early evening (if trip goes well), so seeking advice/suggestions for reasonable, nearby camping or motel options.

Ash River Campground
Minnesota DNR has a primitive campground a few miles from the Ash River entrance to Voyageurs National Park http://dnr.state.mn.us/state_forests/facilities/cmp00029/index.html

David

We stayed at Ash River Campground too
It’s a good place. Definitely recommend paddling up to the Ash River Falls, it’s scenic and worth the trip and climb to the top. If your anywhere near Kettle Falls Hotel you can stop in for a shower($5 a few years ago), hot meal and a cold beverage. Careful the Saloon is one of the crookedest in the country, you’ll have to go in to understand.

Beautiful country, enjoy
