Advice for best fitting Northstar Solo: Trillium vs NW Solo?

So, I’ve found myself wanting to upgrade from my Wenonah Vagabond in Royalex that I’ve had for several years. Seeking something that’s hopefully a little more efficient and in a composite layup. I’ve watched and read reviews till I’m blue in the face and figured I might try and glean some direction from the folks here.

I’m in the southeast US and canoes here are all of the Tupperware dock float performance variety so a test paddle is somewhat out of the question.

I’m 150 pounds, 5’ 8" tall and paddle flat water almost exclusively, with a 30ish pound load as the norm and the rare occasion of an extra 100-150 pounds of a deer. Sometimes small creeks but never water moving fast enough for anything I’d call a rapid by any stretch. My canoe is used for general travelling and loafing around mostly, but I don’t need the “stand up to fish” type of stability. Also I paddle seated most always.

My heart says I want a Magic for the efficiency and the fact that I’ve just always wanted one with the dreams of covering big water with ease. Truth be told, id probably be happy with one. But I like the size of my Vagabond, and I guess the smaller boat may be a better fit for my size and gear load.

For paddling experience, I can say I don’t have any trouble keeping my Vagabond tracking where I want to go in most conditions. I use a single blade bent shaft paddle for all my getting around.

I’m open to thoughts and suggestions towards anything. And I sure appreciate anyone taking the time to read my rambling!

I considered the same models a couple of years ago and ended up with a Magic (Starlight layup). I have nothing but good things to say about it. Most days, it’s my “go to” boat.
Full disclosure: My decision was influenced by the fact that I’ve happily paddled a Bell Rob Roy for years, and Dan (at Northstar) told me that the Magic’s hull is virtually identical to that of the Rob Roy.

Thank you for the insight!

Anybody have any experience in a Trillium?
