What’s the best way to repair the old mounting holes? I planned to plastic weld the crack and put a 1/2 plug in the old holes. Is there a better way?
Thanks!

I filled in similar holes on one of my fishing kayaks (artifacts from a previous owner mounting accessories) with polyethylene I cut off an old recycling bin. I softened the material and the kayak with a $20 heat gun and pushed it in and “smoothed” it with a putty knife. I didn’t bother to match the color, so my plugs are dark blue on the camo kayak. They’re small so they are not instantly noticeable, but they really don’t look bad and they add street cred to my fishing kayak.
Street cred?
I would use some epoxy thickened with wood dust.
