I’m going to be driving from Akron, Ohio to Rockport, MA next week, along this route:
I-80 (OH, PA)
to I-81 (PA)
to I-84 (PA, NY, CT, MA)
to I-90 (MA)
to I-95 North
to Rte. 128.
Anyone who lives along this route and can recommend places to stop? Especially:
1)Close-by lakes for a short paddle
2)Paddle shops
3)Good local restaurants
4)Cheap, clean motel in Central to Eastern Mass. Or safe place I can park and sleep in the car. (Can’t check in to my place in Rockport until the next day.)
I plan to do it in a day, probably starting at 4 AM and taking a couple of short breaks. I don’t want to drift too far from the interstate.

Adjust the route a little.
If you can adjust the route a little you can find decent places to stay in Western mass. And near me there are places to paddle ( flat and ww) and a small town that has about 80 restaurants. The hardest thing to do is pick one. Email if interested. Travel distance would be comparable.

corner of 128 and route 90 is Charles river canoe and kayak great folks, decent shop. New england small craft in rowley is a great shop near the end of your journey!

Rockport is a nice seaport town…
…was there many years ago & loved it.
