Does anyone have experience paddling an Ally canoe on flat water? I’m trying to choose between two types-- a 16.5 foot all around canoe with some rocker, and a 17 footer that has a flat keel and is meant to use only on flatwater. I’m wondering how the 16.5 works on flat water and how much of a difference there is with the 17 footer.

You might want to try posting your question on two other forums: www.foldingkayaks.org and the European paddler’s site, Song of the Paddle. Ally folders are more common in Europe than the USA and you might find people more familiar with the models there.
