Denver Post ran an article last year about an Alpacka-based trip down the Dirty Devil River and into the Colorado near Hite.
Because the water was so low and muddy, the little raft was pulled like a sled more than paddled or rowed. Check their archives to see if they posted the article online. I read it in paper form.
Alpacka is in Mancos, CO.
