Announcing SSTIKS 2017 kayak event

SSTIKS 2017 is Coming

SSTIKS, the South Sound Traditional Inuit Kayaking Symposium, is the Pacific Northwest’s premier event devoted to traditional kayaking skills and culture. It will be held June 2-4, 2017 at Twanoh State Park on the beautiful Hood Canal in Washington.

SSTIKS focuses on sharing Greenland kayaking skills and having fun. We bring in mentors and coaches from around the country and around the world. This year, we have a great cadre of mentors & guests, some are even coming from Greenland itself.
SSTIKS is family friendly. Kids are welcome; there is an active track just for them.
SSTIKS is dedicated to promoting traditional kayak skills and technology. Harvey Golden and the Lincoln Street Kayak and Canoe Museum will bring a selection of authentic kayak replicas for attendees to use. SSTIKS is the only event that offers access to such a wide range of traditional Arctic craft.
SSTIKS is devoted to innovation. This year, we kick off our first annual film festival.

Registration opens in Spring. Till then, learn about all the above and more on our website http://qajaqpnw.org .

We’ll see you at SSTIKS!
