Applachee Paddling Club

Does anybody out there know if the Applachee Paddling Club in Tallahassee still exists and what their contact information is?

Inside is some stuff I found that might
help. Or, it might be out of date. I couldn’t find a year. The only membership form link I found had expired. When you google, be careful not to drop that “A”---- it’s Apalachee.

1/1: New Years Day: Apalachee Canoe & Kayak Gourmet Paddle on the

Chipola River from Yancy Bridge to Magnolia Bridge. Bring a covered

dish to share along the way. Contact Dan Dobbins at 545-4478 (cell)

or 627-2373 (h) or contact Gwen Beatty at 942-7165 (h) or

545-0531(cell) for details and to sign up. (ACKC membership is

required so bring $5.00 and we’ll sign you up on the spot)

The current year 2022 membership is around 70+ people, and includes canoeists, river kayakers, sea kayakers, and whitewater aficionados.

Many of the members are also involved in other outdoor activities, including hiking, camping, birding and cycling. Our trips are informal.

Where do we go around Tallahassee?

Some of our favorite local rivers are:

Sopchoppy, Chipola, Upper Ochlockonee, Upper St. Marks, Aucilla River, Wacissa River, Omussee Creek - Alabama, Econfina Creek (Jackson Co.), Econfina River (Taylor Co.) and many more to the West and East of Tallahassee. The coastal waters of the big bend also provide lots of opportunities for paddling also
