I have to ask. What’s “Rodger’s Rule”?
From Mike Higgins, a former BASK president, someone how has (over time, not all at once) paddled the entire west cost of the US and is slowly working his way down Mexico, and was the first (only) kayak finisher of the first R2AK:

Roger Lamb was a BASK member and is an avid ocean kayaker. He is still doing fine, having moved to Bellingham Washington and taken up kayak racing in a SurfSki.
Roger had rules for many aspects of life, including dating, the best way to drive, and kayaking. When I come to a fork in the trail in the woods, I still ask myself WWRD (What Would Roger Do)? Roger’s rule about rolling was: Every time he was out in the ocean he did 3 rolls to stay in practice. Then he learned an off-side roll and upgraded the rule to
“3 on each side”. I would go kayaking with Roger and see him come up from a roll and ask “how many so far?” I usually had to hurry to catch up.
One day Roger was paddling out of Bodega Harbor and paddled past the Coast Guard station. They had just gotten one of those self-righting boats. A Coastie on the boat bragged to Roger “If knocked over, this boat can right itself in 30 seconds!” Roger immediately dove over and rolled back up in his kayak. “Mine rolls up in half a second!”

16, but my low number is partially due to not being in San Francisco. Also, jealous of all the whale stuff. I kept just missing the whales in all my Seward paddles.
Maybe that’s the stuff they used on me years ago when I accidentally toasted the back of my hand 2" from the nozzle of an oxy acetylene torch. I thought for sure I’d have a nasty scar but the only evidence remaining is the memory, which is also burned in pretty well.

Ouch! That had to be painful.
I got a nasty burn from my woodstove the other night - put Alocane on the burn immediately. It stopped the blister from fully forming as well as the pain. The gel contains Lidocaine. Was so impressed, I bought a few tubes for stocking stuffers.
