Around the world to the right?

I almost always paddle lakes. I have noticed that I feel most comfortable going to the right when I put in-it almost seems harder to paddle the other way. Is this because I am right handed? Because I am used to driving on the right side of the road? Because I live in the northern hemisphere?

get a round tuit
You either got a habit or you’re preparing to go down the drain with the flow. Why not just flush and surf the hole?

LEFT
If you need to make a left turn…

I guess you just need to make three rights to get there.

NASCAR
It’s the Nascar syndrome.

Get a vortex assessor
As you probably know if you have been to places like the “Mystery Spot” in Michigan, there are places where mysterious electromagnetic vortexes occur that can alter even your height. You need to know if this is a factor!

Were you born in Utah or Idaho?
I suggest living for a few years each in Ann Arbor, Madison, or Berkeley. It worked for me.

Lived in Madison 3.5 years
Was born in Detroit. I am now one of 6 liberals in Alabama

Same here
I do the same thing, even when I put in on the river, I’ll put in to the right, and turn about 135 degrees left if want to go the other way. (I go for deep slow rivers myself)

I find it easier to have my dominant hand and foot outside while getting in.

I have, and can change things up and launch to the left when conditions call for it, but it feals like trying to wright with my left hand. The first few times I tried to the left (Wind or Current made a right entry impractical) I ended up with a wet butt.

Seriously
You should be able to do everything from both the right side and the left aside. That is true of rolling and bracing. And every maneuver. The fact is that however you distribute activity between your right and left side, if you are right handed your left can adapt (and vice versa). So don’t pay attention to your initial feeling. You can easily adjust to ignore that.

left
If there are no other influences I tend to put in facing left. I attribute this to my tendency to carry kayaks on my right shoulder so when I reach the water it’s easier to put it in facing left.

move
to Lee county

NO
NASCAR turns left.

Sinister !!

Obviously going to the left is sinister

Yes
NASCAR tracks run counterclockwise, just like you would be doing around a lake if you “went to the right” from the put in.

And I’m not even a NASCAR fan.
