The “Paddle to The Amazon” thread reminded of this other documentary of the amazing Jean Aspen. Fascinating life but not one that I would want to pursue for myself or family.
The film doesn’t talk much about it, but here Jean’s sister died young in the wilderness.

Very interesting to read about people that have spent their lives in the bush.
I had an outdoor career as a forester and environmental consultant. I learned to relish going out in the wild and then coming back from it. It was the contrast that was the most interesting part.
