Asheville Kayaking

I am planning a kayaking trip to Asheville, NC in May and was looking for some input as to where I should be going. I found a few retailers but they will not provide shuttle service from take-out to put-in. I’m not looking for heavy whitewater, but Class I or II is ok. Any suggesstions?

Nantahala
The Nantahala is about a 90-minute drive.

The Tuckaseegee is a bit closer, and is Class I / II. Several rafting and tubing operators that will provide shuttle service.

Some parts …
Some parts of the French Broad would be suitable, and it has some beautiful scenery.



The Barnard to Hot Springs section may not be suitable for you if you prefer to stay at, or below class 2.
