This is the first forum I’ve participated in that automatically saves the text you’re typing in the editor. Just today I had a long-ish message I was typing out and I accidentally closed the browser tab that had my work in it while I was flipping through other tabs. My immediate reaction was “oh crap” (ok, not exactly what I said).
On any other forum without auto-save I’d probably not bother to re-do it. But I remember seeing the draft feature earlier and wondered if JUST MAYBE it was still there. Lo and behold, it was only missing one sentence at the end. Awesome feature.
The only thing that’s a bit annoying is if you start typing a reply to something then decide against it. There’s no way I’ve seen to cancel your reply without ending up with a draft you have to go and delete later. Even if this never gets changed, the pros outweigh the cons.
