Avocet vs. Nordkapp LV

the best of both worlds

That's why so many have more than one boat.

I'm very happy with my Romany as my play/day/skills boat and my Aquanaut as my big water/long paddle and camping boat.

I'm planning on getting out my Elaho DS and confirming that it will work as my poly rock gardening boat.

Now, I'm looking for an old style whitewater/slalom boat, such as a Pirouette for whitewater practice and winter pool sessions.

Thanks
I’m hoping to get some time next week when things slow down around here to get down and paddle one.

Hope
that you find one to paddle…most places don’t have any Nordkapp LV’s on the floor.

The only place I’ve seen any has been at symposium demo beaches…I see by your profile, you live by Grand Marais, MN…

In GM…John doesn’t deal Valley. and they only have a reg Nordkapp HS in Duluth…no LV…Good Luck

Best Wishes

weighting the stern to increase play?
trimming the boat bow heavy is how one improves maneuverability in a boat. get the stern out of the water reduces tracking and enhances turning.

Stiff bow

The Aquanaut has a rather firm bow. Lightening it allows it to move more easily. It rides over more water and responds better to bow rudders and subtler adjustments to forward stroke.

Different boats have different characteristics. My Romany has a very loose bow which easily gets blown around, so I tend to load the boat more bow heavy.

I am not talking major weight differences here in adjusting the trim of these boats.

I was told years ago that the rule of thumb is to keep things low and as close to the cockpit as possible and ordinarily load the boat 60% aft, 40% forward. I load the Aquanaut at about that, and the Romany at 50-50 if heavily loaded, but more often 60 forward 40 aft.

Adjustments are made for conditions when notable

Yikes
Glad I looked. For some reason I was thinking that Midnight Sun had an LV in stock.
