We’re back from our 10-day Kenai kayak camping trip! Woo Hoo! In spite of constant rain, a good storm (60-80 knot winds) and bears, we made our objective and had a great time! It was more like survival training than a kayaking trip, but we did manage to paddle a few times, and best of all, the sun came out the day we packed up to leave, so we could actually dry our tents before loading. We were in Northwestern Fjord - there was supposed to be a tour boat in every day, so we could get some radio contact - but we only saw boats on two days - the weather was so bad. We were truly on our own out there! It was a great adventure for all 6 of us though - the glaciers were incredible, and we got to paddle among the bergie bits!
So guys, now you know where the Wilderness Women are to be found - in Kenai Fjords National Park!
