I am considering a Bell Backwater as a way to canoe fish primarily but also as a canoe to recreational paddle. Is this a good choice? I already have a Minnesota II for serious paddling.
Their site lists two boats under the Backwaters section. The Drifter and the Angler. I looked at both when I was buying my canoe(s). Both are pretty similar to each other. I found the Drifter to be a better choice if you also like to combine paddling and/or camping with fishing. I think it is a tad longer and has a hull designed more like the Morningstar which they classify as a touring boat.
I have an angler without the swivel seats, I find it to do just fine for fishing or recreation. either one will do the job. Bell is a good choice.
