Bent Shaft Canoe Paddle Stroke???

I’d like to see it.
With a little luck I’ll be at AFS.

I’d like to see your paddle. Maybe take it for a spin.

I think I may have sort of discovered (some form of) this stroke through many years of cruising and playing around. In principle one could initiate with just a hard stroke on “off” side (instead of x-forward) right? Then as the boat yaws to your real on side you can catch it and keep it going straight or even turning to the on side with short (and not too powerful) strokes forward of the front thwart on the on side. Would take some real finesse to keep it going straight forever but ten strokes or so seems doable for me.

I remember power paddling a Flashfire with a carbon straight shaft and switching every single stroke and the little guy would still just totally spin out and be uncatchable occasionally!

Now I’m more mellow and just happy to be afloat.
