Bermuda 2017

For those of you who sail or like watching sailing competitions, check it out! The 35th America’s Cup (Bermuda 2017) race route and on-water spectator areas are shown on Navionics charts. Whether you’re a spectator or a participant this will help you get the best position. I’m hoping to make it out there. What are your America’s Cup plans? And if you’re already there, please share some stories!

The R2AK (Race to Alaska) is much more fun and interesting to follow. The organizers offered a free entry to Larry Ellison if he’d bring one of his AC boats.

750 miles under paddle/sail from Port Townsend, WA to Ketchikan, AK. Self supported. No motors. $10K to the winner, a set of steak knives to second place.

Ron Price is paddling a Superior Expedition Canoe. Starting gun goes off June 8.

“It’s like the Iditarod, on a boat, with a chance of drowning, being run down by a freighter, or eaten by a grizzly bear. There are squalls, killer whales, tidal currents that run upwards of 20 miles an hour, and some of the most beautiful scenery on earth.”

Love catamarans, Bermuda and that level of competition.
Awsome today…
