I wanted to take my sons up to the Black River for a day trip this week. (Lyons Fall > downstream). I looked at the flows and they looked high. Decided against it since it was a two hour trip to get there. I realize asking someone if the river is high is subjective but…is there any way to get a handle on the river flow? Phone number? Tackle Shop? Kayak Rentals in that area? We wanted to fish so high and muddy is out.
Ended up doing the Schoharie Creek after a water release from the dam. High volume of water and a quick trip from Middleburgh to Central Bridge.
