Boston Strong...

Hat’s off to all those who ran and finished today. Wow… A cold soaker with 25 mph plus headwinds. Watched the women’s winner, American Des Linden, slogged through that last several miles - alone - to the finish line. I think all of Boston spectators felt a sense of joy and pride in watching her win.

Was happy to hear the women’s results - terrific effort. Running is so hard on the body; no idea how they do it.

Edited to add that I read both the winner and second place runner in the women’s division are from Michigan. Des Linden trains downstate as well as up here in the north (Charlevoix). The last time an American woman won the marathon was in 1985. She also was from Michigan. Fun to learn that.
