I’ve got a grey owl that got branded at YF some years back. Any thoughts on whether the branding will/has weakened it? If so, any ideas regarding a fix? Want to use it for another long trip, but don’t want it snapping on me mid-way.
what do you mean Branded?
if you are going on a long trip you should be carrying a spare paddle of some sort no matter what!!! all good practice…

If you think it’s too deep then glass it
You could sand and fill it first, if you wish.
