Bring back the Bicker Banter category so the folks that want to post about non-paddling topics have a place to do it, and the people who aren’t interested can easily skip it. It worked fine in the old days. In fact, B&B was probably the busiest category. The current Paddlers Place category is too broad.

I agree but maybe under a different title. Diatribes about everything except paddling get old.

It might be worthwhile to try the B & B again, but things got pretty ugly here for a while. When the B and B was closed the non-paddlers disappeared quickly. If I recall most of the reason the B and B was closed was because the worst offenders were scaring off advertisement purchases from paddling related businesses. I think the same thing will happen here again soon when potential advertisers view the Paddlers Place and the majority of posts are not paddling related or not very interesting to new customers getting into paddling. The non-paddling posters choose this site because it is not closely moderated and other sites they would not be tolerated by current internet users who would view them as “over the hill” or “nearly deads”. I would have no problem with a separate topic area were set up if the site owners are not interested in moderating off topic posts. For now I just mute these topics.

Yes, you can.
Go into your profile/preferences/notifications/users and add users you want to ignore.
