Bring on the heat...

When it is 90° and muggy, there is no better place to be than paddling. We did a club trip (RICKA) yesterday on the Lower Deerfield. This is the section below Zoar Gap from the Zoar Picnic Area to the Charlemont Academy – about 7 miles of quickwater/easy class I rapids . Long boats, short boats, people can bring what they want. I paddled tandem in my Mohawk Whitewater 16.

That boat is a beast to carry, but it sure is fun to paddle. The river was mobbed with tubers, but we still managed to have a good time. More than a few swims – most intentional, a couple not. B)
