Bring on Winter!

The first snow of the year has come and gone in the northeast, and it got me thinking about all the great winter trips I’ve done. There is nothing like paddling in the snow, but lately it seems that snow brings out the hiking boots more than the canoe. Oh well, let’s see what happens this year - bring on winter!

nice!

I love watching snow, on TV, in my living room in Florida.

That’s how I watch palm trees, and alligators.

Enjoyed and very well put together.
Ed’s winter warm and happy…
In a large mug heat milk almost to scalding with a dash of nutmeg and a dash of red pepper. Add chocolate, a shot of Myers’s dark rum, 1/2 shot of hazelnut liqueur, 1/2 shot of Irish cream, and leftover morning coffee.
Sit in warm kitchen, sip and live vicariously through eckilson.

Will you bring me one of those?

Not just me - few other long-time P-Netters in there - Daggermat, Wickerboat, Riverstrider, and TommyC1.

It does sound good - that would go great in the thermos, on the river…

Paris the Parson ain’t afraid of the cold,
she’s gotta polar berg bark tic as her brown ears unfold,
bowsprite antic arctic sprung from Yamashita yak hold,
a best friend in the frigid when wagging tails tall are told.

There is a gaggle of shovels waiting to be used…

You know, since Erik started this thread it’s been snowing nonstop here and the lake I live on was completely frozen over the morning of 12/9 which is early even by normal standards. Other inland lakes are now iced over as well. Last night I watched “Frozen” on t.v. Hmm. Could Erik be the male counterpart to Elsa?

How about a bring on spring thread? We are, after all, one day closer…

Oddly there aren’t that many alligators and palm trees that hang out together.

Oh yeah?

That’s funny - looks like he’s coming to get you.

Sorry Rookie - didn’t mean to jinx you. Spring video to come, but not for a while

Must be South Florida. This is typical North Florida gator water. Few palm trees, except in landscaped yards.

Chilly alligators are climbin’ up the palms.
Kissimmee squirrels are chatterin’ their qualms.
Michigan madame moves amidst these flakes to fret.
This comedy eddys out in com when paddling slips its net.

@canoeswithduckheads

Eloquently funny!
