Buffalo National River

I don’t remember what year it was. It’s been a long time now. But, one year, my brother and I and a friend floated a section of the Buffalo National River. Ponca to Pruitt or something like that.
My home state of Colorado is pretty spectacular, but I was very impressed with the quiet beauty of the Buffalo River and surrounding area. Lot’s of caves, bluffs, small waterfalls, lush vegetation. We went in the spring and a lot of the trees had blossoms. Really pretty.
River levels can fluctuate quickly and dramatically, and certain times of the year you will get eaten alive, but if you time it right, a really fantastic paddle.
