I recently picked up an older Sawyer canoe, seems by the numbers to have been made in 1979, I heard that someone is building these boats again with the factory molds. I was wondering if anybody out there knows how Sawyer “dated” their boats for sure? or has build records?

Just cause the hull might have a number ending in 79 does not mean it was finished..just the date it came off the mold.

How did that happen? I totally didn't see pblancs post.Sorry!
