CANOE CARRIERS

HI,I NEED SOME INFO ON CANOE CARRIERS.

I HAVE A JEEP WRANGLER HARD TOP AND I NEED TO KNOW IF ANYONE IS CARRYING A CANOE ON A JEEP AND WHAT KIND OF CARRIER YOU ARE USING.

I KNOW ABOUT THE SOFT TOP CARRIERS BUT IF ANYONE IS USING ONE TELL ME WHICH ONE YOU ARE USING AND HOW WELL YOU LIKE IT,EASE OF ATTACHMENT ETC.

ALSO I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW ABOUT ANY RACK TYPE CARRIERS THAT DOES NOT REQUIRE DRILLING HOLES IN MY TOP.

ALSO HOW MUCH DO THEY COST.(I DON’T WANT TO HAVE TO HOCK ANY RODS TO PAY FOR ONE)

IF YOU HAVE CARRIERS WEBSITE PLEASE INCLUDE THAT.

THANK YOU.

If you post this on the Advice forum,
preferably without all caps (some read that as shouting), you’ll get more responses.

Wrangler
I started with the light bar that is made for the Jeep. Then had made (home spun) a welled H frame for the rear at the bumper area staying a way from the trailer hitch area. Some support I added to the light bar some reinforcement for the weight. My boat is 75 lbs. I suggest to watch how far the bow of the boat is over the windshield. Adjust for wind-age and make sure you use a X pattern for tie-down. Later on I made a trailer (custom) for the jeep to pull adding a aluminum camper top to the trailer. From the top I could carry 6 canoes. 2 down, 2 up, one down to lock the others in. Rain was then the problem but this was a river weekend trip.

CANOE CARRIERS
I’V HAD SOME IDEAS USING THE LIGHT BAR ALSO,BUT FOR NOW I’M LOOKING FOR SOMETHING READY MADE.

THANKS,
