I have refinished a canoe and am trying to identify it. It is 18+ feet long.
Thin fiberglass, finished white on the inside.
Aluminum thwarts like piping.
Sliding bow and stern tractor type seats mounted on the floor. Slide on aluminum tubes.
Flotation chamber in end.
1/2 by 1/2 inner gunwhale and 1/2 by 3/4 outer wood gunwhale.
There is a decal of a short tailed duck with white on top of wings on the inside of the bow.
The gunwhales were literally rotting off it and there were numerous through holes when I got it. Any help indentifying this canoe would be appreciated. I can send picture if you respond by e-mail.

With some luck there will be a Manufacturer Hull Identification Number high on the right stern. What can you find?
Can you post a picture?
Short tailed duck
Was the logo of the Memphremagog Canoe Co of Newport VT. They made two models> The 18’6" WWOC-2 and the 16’6" WWOC-1. Both Downriver racers. Aluminum thwarts, ash gunnals and floor mounted sliding seats. They were around in the early eighties. However before Memphremagog there was Common Canoe in Craftsbury run by the same person and they too may have used the duck logo. Both Common and Memphremagog morphed out of Notheast Canoe of Newport.
