Canoeing Montezuma NWR

 Has anyone paddled any of the impoundments at Montezuma National wildlife refuge in central New York?<br />

I love to watch and photograph wildfowl from my canoe in the spring as they migrate north. Getting there is about a 250 mile trip for me and I would like a little more information than some of the brochures are giving me.

the NWR is mostly wetland but not paddleable.



You can paddle the canals but you won’t see much.
