Hi - I plan on kayaking the Cayuga Seneca Canal from Seneca Lake State Park to the Montezuma Wildlife Refuge. Any recommendation on whether to go east - west or west - east? Thanks.

I did it once. North – South. But it was over too quickly.
As it flows southwest to northeast
best to go with prevailing winds. Rarely are winds from the east except in lousy weather.
That was my first paddle ever in my new to me canoe back in 1970. I hated it; the trip that is but we lived very near it. A carp jumped in the canoe. That might have had something to do with it.
