Good day to all, I have a Nova Craft prospector 16 royal lite 64lbs. I am putting in a center seat for the grand son, and myself fishing. Where do I want to locate the seat? It’s the Eds canoe center yoke seat, but we don’t carry it far we grab a painter line and get on with it. Best to you and yours Ravenwolf.

About 9 inches Is where I installed my center seat. If you install the seat so the yoke is in the dead center for carrying the canoe, and later you solo from that seat, you will find it to be bow heavy and unwieldy in white water unless you add weight to the stern.
Installing behind center will render the carry yoke useless unless you add some weight to the stern of the canoe to create a new balance point.
