Planning on parking Diversy Harbor and going up the ChicaGO R a bit,then on to 12 street beach. What channel on VHF at the lock keepers on?
Will they let us beach our Kayaks on Oak street beach area?

Together and Going Paddling” forum. It is a bit surprising to see a Chicago lakefront question on what purports to be a wilderness travel forum.

If there is anyone that would know that answer, it would be the “Chicagoland Canoe Base” You can find them on Chicagolandcanoebase.com they know pretty much everything when it comes to paddling anywhere in that area. They’re also a great resource for equipment (canoe and kayak both). There’s also a kayak rental company right there near where the Chicago river and the Lake meet that would probably know, but I’m not certain on the name of the company. I’m sure a google search would probably work for figuring out their name. Good luck and have a great time!
