I have pretty much settled on the North Face Paramount convertible pants as my paddling, camping and general use trousers. I have not yet found the same quality, durability and fit/size with any comparable brand. They are ALSO one of the more expensive items at $65 a pop.
Anyone else out there have a favorite or can give comparison? I have tried EMS brand (not bad), Columbia (much lighter fabric and less durable. The big difference for me is fabric weight AND I can get long inseam size (35/36).
Looking for other thoughts.
Cheers
Wes
In general, I favor it

Other than that, I an a sale hound. Two favorites are Cabelas fishing shorta & pants, bought on sale and now discontinued.
Today I was in Fayetteville WV (riding trails) and stopped in Waterstone Outfitters. Patagonia Baggies @ 20% off.

I like the tactical clothing w/ ripstop.
Propper makes BDU’s out of ripstop material it is fairly lightweight but durable. I was the uniform ordering guy at my fire dept and did a lot of research. I’m wearing propper bdu shorts that are 7 yrs old and they look new. No fade no rips great shorts.
