Does anyone know of a source for the coating ( a gel coat I assume) over the ABS Blue Hole canoe? Green was the original
acetone with legos NM
The only coating was vinyl
There are a few composite Blue Hole canoes but the vast majority were Royalex. Royalex is basically ABS with a foamy core and a layer of vinyl (which has the color) bonded to the inside and outside. There is no gel coat.
If the vinyl is worn off areas of the hull exterior but not through the solid ABS into the foam core I would simply spray paint those areas.
My Sunburst just has the color
worn off as you describe in a couple spots, but I’ve been toying with the idea of doing the melted lego trick. It’s something I’d like to say I did.
