Recently gifted an older 16(?) foot Coleman Scanoe in good condition except that the front seat is missing. Perfect for entertainment paddling around my calm smaller lake. Perhaps you can help with a few questions:
- Okay if I use a plywood board with a front and back lip (for stability) to fit over the metal crosspieces to replace the missing seat? I can’t seem to find an actual replacement seat.
- Thinking of topping that with a Sit-backer or a similar seat. I’ve read that a thick seat makes the center of gravity too high. Recommendations for brand/type?
- I’ve seen drop-in center seats - would that work if I wanted to add a middle seat?
